HOW DO I RESERVE A PROPERTY TO RENT? 

It's easy - you give us a 'holding' deposit (by cash or bank transfer), and we'll reserve the property for you. If the landlord subsequently cancels your agreement, you'll get a full refund. Obviously, if you change your mind in the meantime, you won't get a refund – so do be sure you're certain before signing up. Our team is available to answer any questions you may have before making a deposit.

WHEN CAN I MOVE IN?

We know you're keen to move in and settle into your brand new place. As soon as your credit checks and references come back, and are approved by the landlord, we'll give you a moving date.

WHAT REFERENCES DO I NEED TO SUPPLY?

We ask for details of your current employer, and your current/previous landlord.

An independent credit agency will carry out a check on the landlord's behalf.

CAN I RENT IF I'M SELF-EMPLOYED?

Of course. We'll require a reference from your accountant and bank, and 3 years' accounts, subject to circumstances. (Please ask our team about this if you're concerned.)

CAN I RENT IF I'M A STUDENT?


Many of our Landlords let property to students, but you'll need a guarantor (a financially-stable parent, relative or friend) to guarantee the rent and the Terms & Conditions of our Agreement.

WHO SIGNS THE TENANCY AGREEMENT?

We ask all tenants to be present and sign the Tenancy Agreement.

DOES ONE CLICK MOVE ARRANGE COMPANY LETS?

Yes - if you're looking for long- or short-term accommodation for staff members, give us a ring. We have many landlords willing to let to businesses. You'll be asked for references from your bank, chartered accountant and solicitor.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?

At the point of agreement, you will be required to pay one month's rent in advance, a one-off Tenancy Arrangement Fee, and a dilapidations deposit to the sum of 1 month rent. This deposit will be refundable upon contract termination, provided (a) the terms of the tenancy have been adhered to, (b) there is no damage to the property, and (c) it is left in a clean and satisfactory state. This deposit will be held by your landlord, unless we are instructed as Managing or Rent Collection Agents.

1 Click Move accepts Bankers drafts or Building Society cheques. (Please note that we can't accept personal or company cheques.)

HOW IS RENT COLLECTED?

Rent is usually automatically deducted from your bank account by Standing Order, or collected by 1 Click Move in the form of cheque or cash.

WHAT'S THE MINIMUM TENANCY PERIOD?

Minimum tenancy depends on your landlord and contract but it's typically 6 months. Once the contract has been signed, please note that you are liable for rent covering the entire period.

CAN I EXTEND THE TENANCY CONTRACT?

Yes; 1 Click Move will take an administration fee but it's very straightforward to extend your contract when you've settled into your property.

WHAT DOES THE MONTHLY RENT INCLUDE?

It varies from one property to the next, but usually doesn't include the cost of gas, electricity, telephone, council tax, water and sewerage rates, unless otherwise stated.

WHEN DO I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?

Provided your property is clean and undamaged, and you've stuck to the terms of your agreement, your deposit will be returned within 30 days of the end of your contract.

DO YOU PROVIDE CONTENTS INSURANCE?

Yes. As part of our dedicated tenant service we provide insurance covering your possessions and the property's fixtures and fittings. This mandatory insurance is part of every contract and carries an additional charge.
